ABOUT
K40 : Surface Records is an archival art system documenting compression, residue, distortion, and recovery through physical and digital artifacts.
The project operates through limited issuances.
Physical records exist as one-of-one hand-painted surfaces.
Digital fragments function as compressed archival recoveries.
STRUCTURE
The Archive does not operate as a traditional collection.
Records are logged.
Fragments are recovered.
Entries remain active permanently.
Every issuance becomes part of an expanding registry.
PHYSICAL RECORDS
Each Surface Record is produced individually and archived after confirmation.
Signed.
Numbered.
Logged permanently.
No duplicate issuances are created.
DIGITAL FRAGMENTS
Fragments are distributed as downloadable archival recoveries.
They are not courses.
Not guides.
Not subscriptions.
They function as preserved signal artifacts issued through the system.
CONTINUITY
The Archive develops gradually through releases, recoveries, and verified holders.
Verification systems, registry structures, and archival protocols will continue expanding over time.
Once logged, the record remains.
